Rivaan’s POV —
I stood still…
The world moved, but I… I just froze.
How do you even react… When the girl your family wants you to marry… Is none other than the one you’ve spent years trying to forget — The girl you once called Ruhh, your soul?
Yes.
Her.
She’s the one.
The one who disappeared from my life without a goodbye.
The one I waited for — every day, every night — for seven long years.
The one I loved with every heartbeat…
And the one I hated for never coming back.
But now…
Fate has played its final card.
And she’s standing at the end of it.
When they told me about the marriage, I agreed out of responsibility.
A promise made between two families — a bond of honor.
I told myself I would do my duty, stay respectful, protect her, but never love again.
Because I thought love had died with her absence.
And now?
Now I find out —
That the girl they chose for me…
Was never a stranger.
She’s the only one I ever belonged to.
And yet… she doesn't remember me.
Not my name. Not our story. Not our promises.
Nothing.
Ronav told me the truth.
The accident. The coma.
Four years of silence.
Ten years of memories—erased.
My name?
Gone.
Our love?
Lost in some corner of her soul she can’t access anymore.
But I remember everything.
Every. Single. Thing.
The way she laughed with her eyes.
The way she touched my hand like the world stopped spinning.
The way she promised, "Main wapas aungi, Rivaan… tere liye."
And I believed her.
I waited.
I counted seasons, wrote letters I never sent.
Tried to move on, but every time I closed my eyes… it was her.
Only her.
And now that she’s here… breathing the same air…
Existing in front of me like a fragile, beautiful dream…
She doesn't even know who I am.
That broke me.
But not more than knowing the pain she’s been through.
Sleepless nights. Panic attacks.
Therapy sessions and forgotten years.
She has suffered in silence… just like I did.
Maybe that’s why God brought us back together.
Today, I make a decision.
No more running from the past.
No more hating fate.
I will love her.
Again.
From the beginning.
Even if she doesn’t know who I am — I will remind her, not with words…But with my care, my presence, my patience.
I’ll be the calm to her storm. The light when she forgets what warmth feels like.
Maybe I’ll never get back the love we once had.
But I’ll build a new one.
Brick by brick.
With every little moment.
Because I love her.
Not just the girl she was, but also the woman she’s becoming.
She may never call me Aan, the way she used to.
She may never remember our secret promises, or the dreams we had.
But she will know me.
And this time — I won’t let go.
I’ll be there for her.
When she can’t sleep.
When the panic returns.
When the world feels too loud.
And I won’t need her to say she loves me —
Because I’ll show her that I never stopped.
Let the world call this coincidence.
Let destiny laugh in our faces.
But I know what this is.
This…
Is our second chance.
Our Rebirth.
I don’t want revenge for the years I lost.
I just want her to be whole again.
And if loving her helps her heal — Then I will love her with everything I’ve got.
This time, I’ll protect her not from the world, but from herself.
And I’ll never let her feel alone — not again.
I’ll write our story once more.
Not on pages, but in her smiles.
In the quiet comfort.
In the small silences.
In every moment she forgets the pain, even for a second.
Because she’s my Ruhh.
She was.
She is.
And she always will be.
Ekakshi's POV —
It’s strange, this feeling. Restlessness.
Like something inside me is trying to speak…
But I don’t understand the language.
Like a story is playing in the background of my mind — But the pages are torn, the ink faded.
Ever since that day in the temple…
When I was standing in front of Ram Ji’s idol,
A sacred veil — crimson and warm —
Fell from the sky and wrapped around me and someone else.
I didn’t see his face…
Just his back, his silhouette bathed in the light of the setting sun.
Yet something in me… stilled and stormed, both at once.
My heart raced like it knew him.
Like it was meeting someone it had been waiting for…
Not for days or years — but lifetimes.
It’s foolish, right?
How can I feel so much for someone I haven’t even seen properly?
Someone I haven’t met.
Haven’t spoken to.
Don’t even know the name of…
But that moment — it did something to me.
It wasn't just cloth that touched me.
It was something divine.
A whisper from somewhere unknown,
As if Maa Durga herself had pressed her blessing upon us and said —
"Yeh rishte sirf janmo ke nahi, rooh se jude hote hain."
And then came the wedding announcement.
Sudden.
Unexpected.
A promise between two families.
A match written years ago, waiting to unfold.
They said he’s someone worthy, gentle… kind.
They say he’s strong, responsible.
They say he’s mine.
But how can my heart react before I even know who he is?
Why is it beating like a drum inside my chest?
Why can’t I sleep at night?
Why do I keep imagining someone standing next to me in the shadows —
Someone who feels like… home?
There’s a rhythm in my breath that doesn't belong to me.
Like I’m dancing to a music I once knew — but forgot the lyrics to.
And every time I try to reason with it, My mind says,
“You don’t know him.”
But my heart whispers,
"But I do."
Maybe it’s madness.
Maybe it’s destiny.
Maybe it’s love…
Unspoken. Forgotten.
But never lost.
I don’t understand why I feel like this.
I don’t remember him.
And yet, when I close my eyes,
I feel a presence.
Not threatening.
Not loud.
Just… there. Constant. Warm. Familiar.
Someone who once held my hand,
Not in this life, maybe,
But in the dreams I can’t remember.
They tell me I’ll be a bride soon.
That he’s the one my family chose.
That I should be happy.
And I am trying.
Truly.
But how do I explain this storm?
How do I explain this ache in my chest
For someone I haven’t seen —
And still, somehow, miss every day?
Maybe I’m broken.
Maybe I’m healing.
Maybe I’m just a girl who forgot her story…
But her heart remembered the ending.
And so I wait.
For a face I haven’t seen,
But a soul I already know.
I don’t know who he is yet…
But I know this —
When our eyes meet...
My heart is always remember everything that my mind forgot.

Author's POV-
The golden afternoon sunlight filtered into the grand sitting area of the Jaipur Haveli, where the entire Randhawa family had gathered, as usual, for their post-lunch lounging and endless chai sessions.
The wedding buzz of his cousin was in the air, decor samples and lehenga swatches were already scattered on the center table, but something was different today. There was a twinkle in Vivaan’s eyes, and Siya caught it first.
“What’s cooking in that head of yours?” she asked suspiciously, raising her brow.
Vivaan smirked, slowly standing up in the center of the room, as though about to make a formal announcement.
“Ahem… Attention, ladies and gentlemen,” he declared with mock pride,
“your beloved, introverted, emotionally unavailable, gym-obsessed, business tycoon Mr. Rivaan Randhawa… has agreed for marriage.”
There was a moment of stunned silence.
And then—
BHAIYYA!
NO WAY!
KYAAA?!
WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO OUR RIVAAN BHAI?!
Siya literally dropped the pillow in her hand as she gawked at Vivaan, and Aarav looked around, hands on his head in exaggerated disbelief.
“Sach bol rahe ho aap?!” Siiya asked, shaking Vivaan's arm.
(Are you serious?)
“Pakka sach!” he replied proudly. “Mummy log ne pucha… aur usne haan kar di.”
(Yes Iam. Our elders asked... And he said yes.)
“Areee yaar! Main toh samjha tha woh toh vanvaas le chuke hain,”
Aarav cried dramatically, grabbing the corner of a curtain and pretending to wipe his imaginary tears. “Mera bhai… shaadi kar raha hai… phir meri baari bhi aayegi!”
(O man! I thought he had gone to exile. My brother is getting married... Next is my turn)
Laughter erupted.
Nandini shook her head while trying to stifle a smile, “Sharam karle! Bhai ki shadi ki baat abhi shuru hi hui hai aur is Gadhe ko shadi karni hai."
(Have some shame! Your brother's marriage talks have just begun and this idiot already wants to get married.)
“Tch, Mumma,” Aarav replied with a wink, “ab jab bhai shaadi kar rahe hain, toh mujhe bhi emotional support ki zarurat hai!”
(Now brother is getting married, so I need emotional support then)
They all burst out laughing again. Abhaan, sitting between Siya and Tiya, piped up innocently, “Papa! Tya Abhi bhi chaadi kal shakta hee ab?”
(Papa can I get married now too?)
“Beta,” Vivaan grinned, “tera time bhi aayega, par pehle tere chachu ka dulha look toh dekh lein.”
(Son! Your time will come too. Now let's concentrate on your uncle's wedding)
As the chatter turned into warm, teasing conversations, Suhana and Surekha sat silently for a moment, their eyes meeting. And then… mist started clouding Surekha's aged but expressive gaze.
“Main toh sochti thi,” she whispered emotionally, “ki mere Rivaan ke dil ke darwaze kabhi khulenge bhi ya nahi… Aur dekho, bhagwaan ne meri sun li.”
(I thought, my Rivaan's heart doors are closed and never open again... But see, god listened to me)
Suhana placed her hand on her saas’s hand gently. “Usne haan kar di Maa… that too without any drama. There’s hope again. Maybe he’ll smile again… truly.”
(He said yes maa)
Nandini, bringing in fresh tea, chimed in, “He has finally decided to move on. That itself is a big win. Uski aankhon mein, itna sa dard ab bhi chhupa hota hai… jaise koi tukda uske andar toot gaya ho…”
(Some pain is still hidden in his eyes till now... Like a piece has been broken inside him)
A small silence lingered before Siya looked up, her smile soft and thoughtful, “And maybe… she’ll be the one to mend those broken pieces.”
“Like made for each other,” Tiya whispered dreamily, placing her chin on her hands.
"Samjho ho gaya." Vivaan said out of happiness, but no one knows the reason behind it.
(It's already done)
“That veil… that moment in the temple,” Siya said, unlocking her phone and gently showing the picture again — the one under the veil. “I didn’t show it to Rivaan. But Maa… uss pal mein kuch toh tha.”
Surekha smiled at the photo, her thumb brushing over the screen.
“Woh pal nahi tha… ashirwad tha. Mata Rani ka.”
(That's not the moment... That's the blessing of goddess)
Suddenly, Ashok walked in with Yash on the phone via speaker, and he smiled, “Bhai saab wants to know when the dulha will be introduced to us officially.”
Everyone laughed again.
“I say,” Aarav clapped, “Let’s make it Bollywood style. Full band-baaja-baaraat wala entry for Mr. Reserved!”
Vivaan chuckled and shook his head, “He doesn’t even know we’ve planned half the wedding in the last ten minutes.”
The room was now echoing with the kind of warmth that only families who have been through pain, healing, and rebirth together understand.
In that moment, surrounded by laughter, teasing, happy tears, and dreams that had been waiting in quiet corners for too long… it didn’t matter that Rivaan wasn’t in the room.
His decision, his haan, had already brought everyone together in a way only love could.
